My Philosophy
Only when I listen do I understand what needs to be done.
Only when I learn do I gain the knowledge I need.
Only then, am I ready to write.
Without the proper preparation, copy falls short of its expectations. Words mean nothing unless there is a purpose behind them. I take the time to learn about your business, to understand your vision and to study your industry. With this knowledge behind me, I am in a position to write content that appeals to your target market and accurately represents your business.
Writing for Today
Over the years, consumers have been overwhelmed and smothered with forceful, arrogant and relentless sales techniques. There was hardly a second thought as to what value a product or service truly provided because it never mattered…until now. The wave of social websites and social media marketing has given consumers the ability to reach far beyond the advice of a sales representative to access the most honest and unbiased opinions: those of their fellow consumers!
It's time to communicate differently…more effectively. Cater your copy to the people who read it. Sales and marketing tactics must be honest and authentic. Effective writing gives potential customers the information they need…to make the decision they want.
Words for the Customer
I like to believe that I have an intuitive understanding of consumers and their buying behaviours. This enables me to produce writing that speaks to those who read it. My fascination with and experience in the field of psychology empowers me to write content that focuses on the key characteristics of different consumer groups. I write to answer two fundamental questions:
- What is it?
- Why does it matter?
Through collaborative consultations and diligent research, I am able to identify what your customers want; how they make purchase decisions; what matters to them; and most importantly, what do they need that you can provide.
Words for You
Only you know what's best for your business. Although half of my philosophy involves writing for your customer, the other half involves writing for you. My words must effectively represent you and your company. Before I start writing, I make sure that I identify, acknowledge and understand your style. I keep this in mind as the project progresses to ensure that the copy is not only a product of what your customers want to hear, but also of what your business stands for.
Focus
Your objective is one of the most important elements to define. Whether you need content writing for a website, article, press release or magazine advertisement, there is always an objective. What are you trying to achieve? What action do you want your readers to take after they read your copy?
Every great piece of writing has a clear focus that is derived from its core objective. I work together with you establish this focus so that we may arrive at finished product that is effective, direct and exciting to read.
Consistency
Whatever your business, your corporate communications must be consistent. As a copywriter in Toronto, I work to build long-term relationships with my clients because this is where I believe I can provide the most value. By taking the time to know and understand your company, you have a writer who you can rely on to communicate your message consistently across all marketing mediums.
My Commitment to You
